    Covid-19 Vaccination

Just to update about Covid booster plans for information: We will be undertaking some Covid vaccination boosters in Beverley practices. However, our capacity is limited, we will be focusing on those in Care Homes and other high risk groups initially. If you have received a national invitation, please follow the instructions on there to access your booster. We will be inviting some patients as stock of vaccine and capacity allows but we recommend that you go with the first offer available to ensure you are covered for winter. We are also in the process of organising flu clinics, but these are subject to vaccine availability which has been impacted by supply chain and manufacturing issues. We will update as soon as possible. Call volumes are very high currently, please do not call us with general Covid vaccination enquiries. We realise that travelling outside Beverley might not be ideal, but systems are trying to work as quickly and efficiently as possible with the available resources. Please note Covid boosters are only available six months after your second initial dose.

    National Shortage of Blood Tubes

There is a national shortage of the tubes used when collecting blood samples to go to the laboratory for analysis. We have been instructed to preserve stocks for urgent requirements ONLY until this is resolved which is expected to be at least until the third week of September. We will therefore only be carrying out blood tests which are clinically urgent or which are time dependent (e.g. antenatal). This does not impact those coming in for regular INR tests done in the practice. This may however mean the rebooking of some tests, we will contact those affected. Please be kind to our team in this situation, it is not something we can control. More information can be seen via the links below.

    Ordering Regular Medication

We are getting a very high number of requests for medication by phone. Please note that this service is intended for those housebound without access to the internet ONLY. Other options for ordering regular medication include via the NHS App, via email to (please include your name and DOB), via post or via the post box outside the surgery. Calling in requests diverts vital resource from other tasks and causes phone line congestion. Please help us by not calling with any non-urgent request on Monday or early in the morning. Demand is extremely high currently. Your understanding is appreciated.
